On the sidelines

SQRL-1 builds eight SOUNDs, to stay focused on beats and lines. The other engines it carries, Felucca's and databurn's, are cut from its build but not from its source. Each comes back in a custom build with its flag set (see Building), with its pages, its factory sounds and its picture, reached from the PAIR page's SOUND knob.

A sound saved on one of them, in a project, a user sound or a backup, plays on its nearest of the eight: the voices on MOUTH, the sampled ones on PHYS, the organs and oscillators on ANALOG. The pair that played it moves to that SOUND and plays it as you left it, so the SOUND the pair named keeps its own sound. LIBRARY, which walked most engines on one key, gives E4 to SHOCK.
